Bibleolive legal & support

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

This policy explains how Bibleolive handles personal data when you use the app, website, and support services.

At a glance

  • Privacy questions about Bibleolive: xin71990@gmail.com.
  • We use account, purchase, and activity data to run the service. We do not sell personal data or track you across other companies’ apps for advertising.
  • You can request account export or deletion in the app. Sharing an image or export is your choice; deleting an account does not cancel store billing.

1. Scope and controller

The controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy is Lin Xin, operating under the Bibleolive brand. In this policy, “Bibleolive”, “we”, and “us” refer to that controller.

This policy applies to the Bibleolive mobile app, bibleolive.com, and related support. It does not replace the separate privacy terms of Apple, Google, or other services you choose to use.

2. Data we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, profile settings, and the account identifier returned by Apple or Google when you sign in. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
  • Guest information: an internal account identifier and a random installation credential stored in secure device storage to recover the guest session. This credential is not an advertising identifier.
  • Onboarding answers: if you submit the introductory survey, we store your answers about prayer frequency and church attendance with your account. These answers may reveal religious beliefs.
  • App activity: bookmarks, reading-plan and daily-task progress, streaks, badges, and language and display preferences. Search terms are processed to return the results you request.
  • Purchase information: product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, dates, store environment, and entitlement history. Apple handles payment details for iOS purchases; we do not receive your full card or bank details.
  • Support and technical information: messages you send to our support email, request timing, response status, and limited error or security events. Hosting and network providers may process IP addresses and device/browser information to deliver and protect the service. This is separate from our application request logs, which omit request bodies, query strings, and user identifiers.
  • Legacy information: earlier versions may have stored personal prayers, mood entries, or chat content. Version 1.0 no longer offers creation of this content. Any retained legacy records remain covered by this policy and the account export and deletion controls.

Sharing and information stored on your device

Share cards are generated on your device. When you choose Share, the selected images are passed to the app or service you choose through the system share sheet. That recipient handles them under its own policies; Bibleolive cannot remove copies that recipients keep.

Account exports may include sensitive account and activity information. The app creates a temporary export file on your device; any copy you save or share is under your control. Keep exported files private. Device credentials are stored using operating-system secure storage.

3. Religious and other sensitive information

Reading selections, bookmarks, and devotional activity may reveal religious beliefs. Legacy prayers or mood entries may contain other sensitive information. We do not infer a particular religious affiliation merely because you install the app.

The purposes of processing are to provide the features you request, protect the service, and handle your privacy requests and applicable legal obligations. Sensitive information requires an additional lawful basis where applicable; ordinary acceptance of our Terms does not by itself establish explicit consent. Contact xin71990@gmail.com to request information about processing, restrictions, or withdrawal of consent where consent is the basis.

4. Why we use data

Depending on your location, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, your consent for optional or sensitive processing, our legitimate interests in security and service operation, and compliance with law. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

  • Provide guest and registered accounts, sync progress, restore purchases, deliver subscriptions, and remember settings.
  • Display the readings and activity you request, including bookmarks, plans, tasks, streaks, and any retained legacy records.
  • Authenticate users, prevent fraud and account takeover, enforce limits, investigate incidents, and maintain service reliability.
  • Respond to support, access, export, correction, deletion, and appeal requests.
  • Comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, store, and other legal requirements.

5. Service providers and disclosures

Providers may process data only for contracted service functions and under applicable confidentiality and security obligations. If the service is reorganized or transferred, personal data may transfer subject to this policy and applicable notice requirements.

  • Apple processes Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, subscriptions, and store-related support on Apple platforms.
  • Google processes Google Sign-In. Google Cloud hosts application services and limited operational or security logs.
  • Cloudflare provides DNS, content delivery, network protection, and object storage for approved app content and backups.
  • A managed PostgreSQL provider stores account, entitlement, progress, and user-content records for the service.
  • Professional advisers or authorities may receive limited data when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, or establish and defend legal claims.

6. AI, advertising, sale, and tracking

The first public release covered by this policy does not send your prayers, mood entries, journal text, or Scripture activity to a third-party generative-AI provider. If a future release introduces such processing, we will describe the provider, data flow, retention, and available consent controls before enabling it.

Bibleolive does not run advertising networks, sell personal data, or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. It does not use data from Bibleolive to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. A browser privacy signal therefore does not need to opt you out of a practice we do not perform.

7. Retention and deletion

While your account is active, we retain account and activity data to provide the service. A successful in-app account deletion removes the account identity and associated personal content from the active application database. Apple-linked accounts require renewed Apple authorization so that we can revoke the link before completing deletion; if deletion fails, retry or contact support.

Limited payment records may remain in pseudonymized form for payment reconciliation, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Support correspondence, infrastructure logs, and backups have separate retention arrangements and are not all erased by the in-app action. Contact xin71990@gmail.com for a request concerning these records. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account, and deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription.

8. Security

We use encrypted transport, secure operating-system storage for device credentials, access controls, server-side purchase verification, secret management, and monitoring designed to protect data. No system is completely secure, so please use a protected device and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may request access, a portable export, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal of our response. California residents may also request information about collection and disclosure and may opt out of sale or sharing; Bibleolive does neither. You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right.

Use the in-app account controls when available or email xin71990@gmail.com. We may need to verify that you control the account or guest profile. An authorized agent must provide proof of authority. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. International processing and children

The operator is based in China and uses international hosting and service providers. Data may be processed outside your country, including when the operator accesses it to provide support or operate the service. Contact xin71990@gmail.com for information about processing locations and applicable transfer safeguards. Accepting this policy does not waive your rights concerning international transfers.

Bibleolive is a general-audience service and is not directed to children below the minimum digital-consent age in their location. A child who cannot legally consent should use the service only with a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal data without required permission.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the service or law changes. We will post the new date and provide additional notice before a material change when required. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to xin71990@gmail.com.
